OVERVIEW: Westin Anaheim’s Outlet servers will execute dining service from any outlet to include; Bar 1030 (Mainly), RISE, Tangerine Room, or Bella’s Splash pool. The server will be a dynamic individual who is able to take orders, serve tables and manage a dining room with fine dining abilities and finesse to adhere to Westin Anaheim Resort’s high standards. Our serves will be the face of our restaurants and responsible for our customers’ experiences. Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean to Covid-19 sanitation standards and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. The server will be quick on their feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude.

Restaurant Server Responsibilities

  • Welcome patrons and customers as they arrive
  • Provide menus and suggest menu items
  • Provide detailed information of menu items
  • Suggest daily specials
  • Serve welcome drinks and take orders
  • Repeat orders to ensure accuracy
  • Relay orders to the kitchen and ensure that all orders are delivered on time
  • Ensure the accuracy and quantity of every order
  • Serve food as it arrives and refill glasses
  • Prepare tables, lift and arrange tables for larger parties
  • Offer desserts and drinks to patrons
  • Clean tables and dining areas including counters
  • Deliver food items to tables in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure that food presentation is up to the outlet standards
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of all ding operating items
  • Provide customers with checks and take payments
  • Attempt to up-sell food and beverage items
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Attention to cleanliness and safety
  • Servers are expected to be efficient, polite and have a friendly attitude
  • Ensure all Covid 19, Eco Sure, HD and HACCP standards are being strictly adhered to.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have server experience in large restaurants, fine dining preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by guests.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information when serving high profile.
  • Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
  • Responsible and trustworthy.
  • Proven restaurant serving experience
  • Attention to cleanliness and safety
  • Patience and customer-oriented approach.

  • Prior experience with 4 Diamond rated hotel a plus

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job it will require to:

  • Must be able to tolerate temperature changes from hot to cold and cold to hot.
  • Must be able to tolerate noise and vibration and a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, working on scaffolding and high places.
  • Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
  • Frequently use hands for keyboard and arms to reach.
  • Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 40 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. occasionally.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in a guest service experience in a full-service hotel, restaurant or high-profile bar.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must possess a high level of high-quality standards & organization 
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of the service industry, policies and procedures to include sanitation.
  • Proficiency working with various computer programs including but not limited to Micros and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Food Handler’s Certificate required by the County. TIPS training a plus.
